Walk of Life is the second album by pop singer Billie Piper, released in 2000. Piper's second album did not match her multi-platinum debut despite producing three Top 30 singles - "Day and Night" went to #1 and "Something Deep Inside" peaking at #4 and "Walk of Life" finishing at #25 on the UK charts.

Despite favourable reviews, the album was not released in the US.[citation needed] Piper subsequently decided to take a break from the music industry and concentrate on acting. The album was released in Japan long before it was released in the UK and very shortly after her debut album was released there. Many fans ordered the album from Japan rather than wait until its release in October, which could be reason for poor sales.

By the 21st of September, 2002, the album was at its last week on the charts, at #109.

  • The original version of "Something Deep Inside" can only be found the Japanese version of this album. All international versions of the album contain the Radio Mix. The Japanese edition also has the unmixed version of "Walk of Life", which also can only be found on the Japanese edition.
  • A new mix of "Makin' My Way" was released on the Japanese version of the album. This mix & "First Love" were both replaced on international releases with "Bring It On" & "What Game Is This?"
  • "The Tide Is High", a cover of a song performed by The Paragons later covered by Blondie, was to be the 4th single from the album. Piper states in Growing Pains that she told Virgin Records not to bother releasing "The Tide Is High" as a single because she was worn out and didn't want to sing anymore after appearing in court against a woman named Juliet Peters who had given Piper, her friends and her family numerous death threats. A single mix & remixes were commissioned but never released. Piper also samples the line "Do you have a girlfriend?" taken from her second #1 hit single "Girlfriend".
  • "First Love", scrapped from the original track listing, was later used as the b-side to Something Deep Inside.
