Sports Science and Medicine: warm-up decrement

The gradual loss of the effects of warm-up during a period of inactivity between the warm-up and competition. The effects of warm-up lasts approximately 30 min. Warm-up, therefore, is usually most effective immediately before competition. A warm-up decrement may occur after only a few minutes of inactivity.
