Warmdesk is the minimal techno project from Chicago producer William Selman. Originally working in the more dissonant world of musique concrète, Selman took a more accessible approach with the minimal techno of Warmdesk. Labels like Bip-Hop and Alienation included Warmdesk tracks on compilations as early as 2001 and singles were released on Static Caravan and A Posteriori Recordings. In 2003 Deluxe released Warmdesk's full-length debut, Guero Variations, an album made entirely by sounds played inside a piano. Stephan Mathieu and Ulrich Troyer contributed remixes to the Guero Variations Variations 12", released in 2003. Selman is also an occasional DJ and spins the likes of Akufen, Baby Ford, Moodymann, and numerous records from the Basic Channel label. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
