Biography

Over his long career, Warren Low received four Oscar nominations for film editing. He got his start as an actor while still a teen during the silent era and worked in the films of Cecil B. and William C. DeMille. Following military service during WWI, Low worked first for Technicolor. In 1930, he began working as an assistant editor for Warner Bros. and by 1936 became a full-fledged editor. In 1950, after having edited over 100 films and worked as a supervising editor for producer Hal Wallis, Low and Jack Ogilvie founded the American Cinema Editors, an organization that Low led for a year in the mid-'50s. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
