‘you press the button, we do the rest’, celebrated advertising slogan devised by George Eastman in 1888 for his revolutionary roll-film Kodak camera. The Kodak was loaded with enough film for 100 exposures. When the last exposure had been made, the camera was sent to Eastman's factory for the film to be processed. The camera, reloaded with a fresh film, was then returned to its owner together with a set of prints. Thus began the modern developing and processing industry.
