Spotlight: Happy birthday to actor/director Ed Harris, who turns 57 today. Nominated four times for Academy Awards for his acting, Harris's first outing behind the camera was as director of his acclaimed Pollock (2000), in which he played the title role. He next takes on the role of director in the upcoming film Appaloosa, scheduled to be released in 2008, and starring Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Renée Zellweger. Three of Harris's films are on the American Film Institute's 100 Most Inspiring Movies of All Time: A Beautiful Mind (#93), The Right Stuff (#19), and Apollo 13 (#12).

Word of the day: weeperTerm describing a bottle of wine that is leaking slightly (weeping) around the cork. This can be caused by a faulty cork or by poor storage where a cork that wasn't kept moist shrank. Weepers aren't necessarily bad bottles of wine, although it's possible that spoilage could have occurred.
