Wei Liucheng (Chinese: 卫留成; Pinyin: Wèi Liúchéng; born 1946) is a Chinese businessman and politician. He currently serves as the Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of Hainan. [1]

Biography

Wei was born in Biyang County, Henan in 1946.[1] He has worked in China's petroleum industry for more than 30 years.[1] In 1998, Wei was appointed the general manager of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.[1]

Wei moved to Hainan in October 2003.[1] He was appointed the Governor of Hainan in February 2004 and served in that position until February 2007.[1]

Wei was appointed the Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of Hainan in 2006 and was re-elected by the Hainan People's Congress on January 29, 2008.[1]

Wei was an alternate member of 16th CPC Central Committee, and is a current member of 17th Central Committee.[2]
