Clear Channel did not want to re-new his contract. In short but there is a more political reason has well that dates to when Elroy use to own WGCI. Elroy and crazy Howard were close. Once Elroy left WCGI based on his relationship with Clear Channel. Crazy Howard felt the brunt of this from Clear Channel as well. All that once was of the Elroy era is no more at WGCI.
