This LP is a real collector's item. Leonard Bernstein talks about jazz and, with the assistance of vintage recordings and an all-star group assembled by trumpeter Buck Clayton, demonstrates various jazz styles. Most memorable are several examples of the standard "Sweet Sue" being played in different styles including a recording by the Miles Davis Quintet. Most of Bernstein's talking on this mid-'50s recording is surprisingly undated and collectors will find the album quite interesting. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
