Whereas a generation or two ago the intermarriage of Jews with non-Jews throughout the world was very low (in many cases in the single digit percentage range), the trend for the past few decades have been for an ever-higher intermarriage range. In some cities in the United States the rate is 80% of all marriages, and indeed the overall US rate hovers in the 50% range. Except for Israel and a few other countries, the intermarriage rate throughout the world is similar to - if not greater than - that of the United States.
