"Whatever Lola Wants" is a popular song, sometimes rendered as "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets". The music and words were written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross for Gwen Verdon to sing in the 1955 musical play Damn Yankees. The song also appeared in the film made from the play. The Irish born "spanish dancer" and mistress of King Ludwig I of Bavaria as well as San Francisco Gold Rush vamp Lola Montez is reputed to be the inspiration for the saying upon which this song title is based.[1]
The song is used in the movie Hors de prix.
In 2005, the song was used in Kinky Boots (film) by the main character, a transvestite and drag performer whose female alter ego goes by the name Lola (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor).
In 2007, the song was used during an Argentine tango danced by Sara Von Gillern and Danny Tidwell in the third season of So You Think You Can Dance.
The Dutch soft drink Crystal Clear launched a commercial using the song.
