A whispering gallery is a large room that is shaped such that if you stand in the right spot, you can be heard everywhere, even if you are whispering. It is a gallery beneath a dome or vault in which whispers can be heard clearly in other parts of the building.

The circular gallery which runs at the point where the vault of the Dome starts to curve inwards, is called the Whispering Gallery.
