Biography

Whit Masterson is one of several alternate pseudonyms utilized by authors Bill Miller (1920-1961) and Robert Wade (b. 1920), who most often wrote under the joint pen name of Wade Miller. Following his writing partner's death, Robert Wade continued to use the Whit Masterson pseudonym on his own. As with the Wade Miller novels, the Whit Masterson books were known for their tough, gritty portrayals of police detectives and the world in which they work. Among the films made from the Masterson books have been one excellent crime thriller (Buzz Kulik's Warning Shot) and one work of genius (Orson Welles' Touch of Evil). ~ Bruce Eder, All Movie Guide
