Things are finally looking up again for Matthew; his career is in full swing, and he's thinking of becoming engaged -- that is, until he thinks he's spotted his former lover in a restaurant. Almost immediately, Matthew puts the brakes on his marriage plans and his career in order to conduct an exhaustive search for his old flame. Obsessed, he barely notices the psychologically devastating trap his quest is leading him into -- a danger that only grows when he meets an enigmatic stranger (Rose Byrne). Review

Produced by Keith Cleversley (Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips), Sparkler's debut album Wicker Park is an engaging amalgam of swirling guitars and sunny melodies. While the songs aren't always cohesive, Sparkler has a charming, appealing sound that falls halfway between the Lips and Mercury Rev, which means that Wicker Park is a worthwhile listen, even with its faults. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

Protagonist Matt is at first a man obsessed, following Lisa and entering both her apartment and hotel room. He meets Alex (Rose Byrne), the current occupant of Lisa's apartment, and as details of Matt and Lisa's former relationship are revealed through a series of dreams and flashbacks, the twisted plot that separated them begins to reveal itself and unravel.
