Born in Florence, Italy, Dr. Kirby, was raised in Tallahassee, Florida where he graduated from Florida State University School. His father and step-mother, David Kirby and Barbara Hamby, are both authors and have been professors in the English Department at Florida State University for over 35 years.
In 1995, Dr. Kirby received his degree in Biology from Emory University and he is considered an authority on Geochelone Sulcata, the Africian Spurred Tortise. He obtained his degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in 2000 and did his first year of postgraduate training in Internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center & Miami Heart Institute in Miami Beach, Florida in 2001. His dermatology residency training, which he completed in 2007, took place in association with Western University/Pacific Hospital of Long Beach where he served as Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology.
While living in Miami for postgraduate training, Dr. Kirby decided to apply for Survivor: The Australian Outback and Temptation Island. CBS contacted him regarding his Survivor application but felt his personality would be best suited for Big Brother 2.
Big Brother
In both the Big Brother seasons in which he was a contestant, Dr. Kirby forged various alliances that often proved illusory, although his loyalty to the group of males and females known as "Chill Town" was never shaken. The name "Chill Town," was a reference to the cold bedroom the original BB2 alliance occupied. Despite never winning a Head of Household competition and being nominated for eviction four times during Big Brother 2, Dr. Kirby's strategy of deceit with a Machiavellian flair prevailed and he won the show's $500,000 US top prize by a 5-2 jury vote of evicted contestants. Will was referred to as 'The Puppetmaster,' for his skill in manipulating the house guests and because of his finesse in playing the game of “Big Brother.” On July 3, 2006, producers chose Dr. Kirby to re-enter the Big Brother house to take part in Big Brother 7: All-Stars, CBS's All-Star edition of the long-running reality show. Dr. Kirby and fellow Chill Town alliance member, Mike 'Boogie' Malin duped most of the house guests and survived all the way to the final four. Despite having the most brazen alliance in Big Brother history, Chill Town still worked "secret ninja style" and was able to lure the other house guests into a false sense of safety while simultaneously convincing them to evict their own close friends and alliance members, while wearing t-shirts stating, “I’m probably lying.” Dr. Kirby was eventually evicted on September 5, 2006, and he joined the seven member jury. His alliance partner, Mike Malin went on to win the top prize. Will admired the acting skills of Neil Patrick Harris, who is also a huge Big Brother fan. Neil appeared in an episode of Big Brother-All-Stars, and they were able to meet. The highlight of the show for many of Chill Town fans was the telephone calls that Will and Boogie made in the Diary Room, where they pretended to call one another and they would mock the other player’s game play.
Dr. Kirby: "I got two things from BB in 2001: I got $500,000 and I got basal cell carcinoma. Skin cancer! I had a lesion on my leg that was biopsied. That's what pushed me back into medicine and made me want to be a dermatologist." Dr. Will's most important message is to use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure.
Medical and Professional career
After five years of research and dermatological practice in Los Angeles area, Dr. Kirby has developed a skincare line of products called Kirby Cosmeceuticals. The products treat current skin issues and repair the signs of the skin's aging. The skincare line is aimed at people of all ages, gender and skin types to promote healthier skin.
Dr. Kirby also appears on E!'s Dr. 90210, a reality show about Beverly Hills plastic surgeons and dermatologists, now in its fifth season. The show will feature Dr. Kirby's friends, family and celebrities in different segments which discuss and follow procedures related to his practice of cosmetic dermatology and laser tattoo removal.

Located in Beverly Hills, it is laser tattoo removal service, which has removed more than 20,000 tattoos since opening in 2004. They also offer other cosmetic dermatological services. Dr. Kirby involves himself in many charitable events and most recently participated in a medical mission's trip to Ecuador.
Entertainment Career

In 2005 Dr. Kirby was on Battle of the Network Reality Stars, again with his friend, Mike Malin, where they competed with other reality personalities in competitions.
Will appeared as himself on a one time episode of the Young and the Restless in late October, of 2006.
He won "Favorite Villain,” and “Favorite Showmance,” with Mike Malin, at the 2006 Fox Reality Remix Awards. They repeated their award at the 2007 Really Awards.
Dr. Kirby has made a number of public speaking appearances at Women's Conferences in several cities throughout North America where he has met his many fans, discussed medical issues, as well as his performance and strategies playing Big Brother.
