Biography

A tall (6'1"), dark-haired stage juvenile who had appeared in Brown of Harvard and Strongheart on Broadway, William Buckley appeared intermittently on screen in the 1910s but didn't really find his niche until signing with Fox. Very busy from 1919-1922, Buckley supported Tom Mix in five Westerns and also did yeoman duty opposite Mix's studio rival, Buck Jones, usually playing young desperadoes or henchmen. He left films in the middle of the decade, presumably to return to the stage. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
