Architecture and Landscaping:
William Flockhart |
(1854–1913)
Scots architect. He set up a practice in London in 1881, and produced a number of competent and well-designed buildings. His Lansdowne House, Flats, and Studios at 11 and 13 Lansdowne Road, London, were in a free Renaissance style. His best work was probably Rosehaugh, Avoch, Ross and Cromarty (1890s), a vast house, the site architect for which was the young Adshead. His 108 and 110 Old Brompton Road (1885–6) are finely crafted buildings.
