Biography

Not to be confused with the rock drummer from San Diego, the actor and singer William Graham is best known for premiering the role of Captain "Big Jim" Warrington in the show Little Mary Sunshine. This show, written completely by Rick Besoyan, opened in late 1959 at New York City's Orpheum Theater and ran for 1143 performances; Capitol has issued a soundtrack of this original production. That represents 1143 times Graham got to sing his solo "You're the Fairest Flower," suggesting that perhaps he got into gardening after retiring from the stage. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
