William Hornbeck(b. August 23, 1901, Los Angeles, California - d. October 19, 1983 Ventura, California) was an acclaimed film editor. He was nominated four times for the Academy Award for Film Editing. One of the nominations he won (A Place in the Sun). Other more noticeable credits include It's a Wonderful Life, I Want to Live! and Giant. Universal Pictures almost brought him on board to completely re-edit George Lucas' American Graffiti.
