William Lewis (born 1969) is a British journalist and editor of The Daily Telegraph in London.
He was appointed editor of the Daily Telegraph on 9 October, 2006, becoming the youngest ever editor of the paper. He was previously deputy editor and City editor of the paper. Before joining the Telegraph in 2005, Lewis was business editor of the The Sunday Times for three years. Before that, he worked at the Financial Times for 8 years. He left his job as news editor of the FT in November 2002 because of editorial and strategic discrepancies with Andrew Gowers, the then editor. Personal issues between Lewis and Gowers also played a role. Gowers was ousted by Pearson [owner of the Financial Times] chief executive, Marjorie Scardino, three years after Will Lewis left.
