William Palmer

Biography

Palmer Williams spent most of his career working for CBS news in both radio and television. During WW II, however, Williams was involved with making documentaries, notably with Frank Capra's Why We Fight. Following the war, he joined CBS and played a key role in developing Edward R. Murrow's influential radio show Hear It Now as well as its television counterpart See It Now. Later in his career, Palmer directed and produced installments of CBS News and CBS Reports. Williams spent the last years before his 1981 retirement as the senior producer for 60 Minutes. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
