Wilson Sporting Goods may be best known for supplying "Wilson," the volleyball in the movie Cast Away. Along with the accolades on the big screen, the company is well respected for producing the gear to tear it up on courts, courses, and athletic fields worldwide. It makes and markets sports equipment and apparel for golf, racquet sports (badminton, racquetball, squash, tennis), and team sports (baseball, basketball, football, soccer, volleyball). Wilson brand balls are used by the NFL, the NCAA, and various professional and collegiate soccer and tennis teams. The company, which serves players in more than 100 countries, is owned by Amer Sports.
