Biography

Winans Phase 2 heralded the emergence of a new generation of one of contemporary gospel's most prominent families -- Marvin Jr., Michael Jr., Carvin III and Juan Winans were sons of the original Winans brothers, as well as the nephews of duo BeBe and CeCe Winans. All still in their teens at the time of their 1998 formation, the group originally formed to appear in a series of television spots for the local NBC affiliate in their native Detroit, quickly signing to Myrrh to release their 1999 debut album We Got Next. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
