Winchester Medical Center is the flagship facility of Valley Health System, a not-for-profit health care organization serving the residents of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The full-service general hospital, which has more than 400 inpatient beds, serves as a regional referral center for the system's smaller community hospitals. It provides medical services across a number of specialties (including neuroscience, heart disease, and cancer) and offers surgical, diagnostic, and rehabilitative care. The hospital's campus also features outpatient diagnostic and surgical facilities, an adult psychiatric facility, and doctors' offices. Winchester Medical Center opened its doors in 1903.
