Wings Over Ethiopia is the filmed record of a treacherous airplane flight over the titular African nation. Taking off from Switzerland, the plane glides gracefully over Egypt and the Sudan before reaching its destination of Addis Abada. The passengers are greeted by Emperor Haile Selassie, then they journey by auto into the Ethiopian interior, where they come face to face with some of the most primitive native tribes in existence. After several jaw-dropping glances a tribal ceremonials, the film shifts its attention to Ethiopian military maneuvers, unexpectedly coming to a conclusion with a public execution! Chances are that the citizens of Ethiopia would have welcomed more airborne filming expeditions of this nature, and fewer of Mussolini's bombing raids. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
