Winnoc (Wunnoc, Winnow) (d. c.717), abbot. He was probably a Welsh monk who founded the Cornish church of St. Winnow and later joined the monastery of Sithiu (Saint-Omer) of which Bertin was abbot. He founded the monastery of Wormhout (near Dunkirk), and built a church and hospital there. His zeal in manual work was famous: his supposedly miraculous grinding of corn is recorded in the OE Martyrology. His relics were translated to BerguesSaint-Winnoc in 899/900. His feast is recorded in most English calendars of the 10th–11th centuries; this is partly due to the strong connection between Canterbury and Saint-Omer.
