QBE Regional Insurance (formerly Winterthur U.S. Holdings) provides commercial and personal property/casualty insurance through two operating companies: Wisconsin-based General Casualty Insurance and Washington-based Unigard Insurance. Between the two, QBE Regional sells commercial insurance primarily to small and midsized businesses, as well as homeowners, auto, and other personal lines to individuals. Doing business in more than 30 states, the unit operates under the General Casualty name in the midwestern, eastern, and southeastern US and under the Unigard name in the West. Once a subsidiary of Swiss insurer AXA Winterthur, QBE Regional Insurance was acquired by Australia's QBE Insurance Group in 2007.
