WizardWorks is best known as the developer of the Deer Hunter series of first-person hunting simulations. The original Deer Hunter was released toward the end of 1997 and was the top-selling PC game in the first quarter of 1998. In 1999, WizardWorks was purchased by French publisher Infogrammes -- which officially changed its name to Atari in 2003. Atari shut down the Minneapolis-based WizardWorks studios in March, 2004. ~ All Game Guide
