Biography

The '90s power pop outfit Wonderboy consisted of members Robbie Rist (singer, guitar, keyboard), Pat McGrath (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Dave Brow (bass, vocals), and Paul "Wally" Presson (drums, percussion, vocals). Rist got his start with the band Paul Pope, who issued a pair of albums and toured, but eventually lost most of its members. Rist decided to carry on, enlisting a few other fellow Los Angeles musicians and changing the band's name. The quartet issued three releases for the Racer label during the mid- to late '90s: 1996's Abbey Road to Ruin, a self-titled release, plus 1997's Napoleon Blown Apart. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
