Woqooyi Galbeed (Somali: Woqooyi Galbeed is a region in the northwestern of Somalia. Its capital is Hargeisa.

Woqooyi Galbeed is separated into seven administrative regions. Maroodi Jeex region is where the national capital Hargeisa lies , which is also the second capital of Somalia. Being the smallest region it is although in near proximity to majority of western and central states. It is bordered by Gabiley to the west and Gaaroodi to east and south.
