An administrative body that receives claims for injuries and refers them to certain physicians or dentists for treatment, if indicated, with the express or implied assurance to the claimant that the expense will be defrayed by the employer under the Workmen’s Compensation Law. The determination of the Industrial Commission is subject to an appeal to court. The federal agency overseeing these matters is the Bureau of Employees Compensation.
