WorldTeach is a Non-governmental organization devoted to the need for educational assistance in developing nations. Founded in 1984 by a group of Harvard University students, WorldTeach places volunteer educators in communities throughout the world for 2-12 month terms. The organization is based at the Center for International Development at Harvard University. Approximately 200 volunteers are placed yearly, with about 2000 placed to date.

Most volunteers teach English language, and some teach Information technology, Communication technology and environmental education. Depending on the destination, volunteers are usually expected to raise $1000-5000, which covers round trip airfare, room, board, health insurance, 24-hour field staff support, one month of language and teacher training, and a monthly stipend. The stipend is roughly equal to a local teacher's salary. Volunteer placements vary widely in the size of the city (300 people to 3 million), age of the students (elementary to adult), and living situation (homestay or apartment).

For year-long programs, a bachelor's degree is mandatory. No foreign language or teaching experience is required.
