Contents

Origin

According to Bob Boyle</ref>, the series began as a story created by his niece, Viviana Ogawa, that Boyle turned into a rough comic book-style storybook called The Tail of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Ted. During the series' development process, the characters were renamed Widget, Wubbzy and Walden. Eventually, the title character was named Wubbzy[2].

Boyle submitted his original concept as a book to Bolder Media. After more than 600 children's book concepts were reviewed, Boyle's submission was selected for development into an animated series for preschoolers. Production for the first season began in January 2005.

Short Segments

Short Title Time on Wubbzy Description
Wubbzy Short 28 August 2006 - 2 September 2008 A short that always begun after the first episode of the show. On September 2, 2008, the Wubbzy Short segment was discontinued for a similar short series called The Wubb Club. These shorts can be seen online as part of the WubbCast.
The Wubb Club 2 September 2008 - present A short that begins after the first episode of the show. Similar to Wubbzy Short, it includes Wubbzy and his friends in the Wubb Club. Something unusual usually happens.
Educational Song 28 August 2006 - present Until September 2, 2008, the show had two educational songs but after September 2, the first song was replaced with the Wubb Club Dance Party. These songs can also be seen as part of the WubbCast
Wubb Club Dance Party 2 September 2008 - present The part of the show after The Wubb Club which begins with a robot named "The Jukebox Robot" singing "Hey! Hey! Wubbzy, it's a beautiful day. Hey! Hey! Wubbzy, what do you say?". The robot then asks Wubbzy what time it is. Wubbzy then guesses two wrong answers (example: Is it 11:00?) and the robot says "No" more than once. After that Wubbzy says "Well, what time is it?". The robot then says "Hoo hoo, hee hee, its time for the Wubb Club dance party!", and then a song begins. The song did not appear in Wubb Idol or in any Wubb Girls episodes.
Walden's Minute of Knowledge 2006 - 2007 (?) Sometimes, the Wubbzy Short was branded Walden's Minute of Knowledge. Walden shows Wubbzy about something. Mysteriously, the segment went off the air in 2007.
