Wuhan Iron and Steel, known by the less industrial moniker Wisco, anchors China's steel industry. Each year it produces about 20 million tons of a wide variety of steel products including hot and cold rolled sheet and coil, galvanized and tinned sheet, color coated sheet, and wire and rod. It also makes chemical products and granulated slag and operates six iron ore mines in Hubei and Jiaozhuo. Wisco is China's oldest steel company, established in 1958.
