Game Description

This sequel augments the style and gameplay of the 2000 PlayStation original with more characters, new arenas, and graphical enhancements. Gamers can now enter the ring as Rogue, Nightcrawler, Havok, or other new characters in addition to Wolverine, Storm, Mystique, Magneto, and the mutant heroes and villains featured in the first game. Each character has different powers and attacks based on the Marvel Comics X-Men universe. Four different game modes are available, including the straightforward "arcade" and "versus" modes as well as a "survival" challenge and an "academy training" session taught by Professor X himself. ~ T.J. X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 is a PlayStation video game, the sequel to X-Men: Mutant Academy. Both feature the X-MEN in a 3-D fighting arena similar to Mortal Kombat 4. Like its predecessor, the game allows the player to select from several heroes and villains and includes many of the signature moves from the comic. The game also includes a behind-the-scenes look at X-Men: The Movie concept sketches, costumes and other similar material.

Modes

There are four modes to play:

  • Academy Training - this is where special costumes can be unlocked. The majority of characters have the ability to unlock two costumes, but six characters cannot.

Some characters have a third and fourth costumes. In order to unlock them one should press R2+X and for the fourth press is R2+0.

  • Arcade - in this mode, it is possible to unlock the ending movies of characters.Another additional feature is the ability to unlock extra characters. This is performed by obtaining all the ending movies for different characters in a row , Psylocke is unlocked for the left row and Juggernaut is unlocked for the right row. There are two special characters that can be unlocked after obtaining the endings of special characters. If one passes with Cyclops, Spider-Man is unlocked; if one passes with Magneto, Xavier is unlocked.
  • Versus - Verses mode is standard to that of many other fighting games, as in it has the ability to pit player one and player two against each other. also by having player one play in this mode multiple times they will unlock the "beach party" background.
  • Survival - Survival mode allows the player to chose a single character and attempt to defeat multiple enemies without losing their own health. When the players health bar is drained the game is over.
