Xeglun is the Elk of the heavens, who in Siberian Tungus mythology (see Siberian entries, Central Asian Mythology) is chased on skis by the great hunter Mangi, whose tracks formed the Milky Way.

Xeglun is the celestial elk in Chinese mythology. It was Mangi's pursuit of this creature that was said to have created the Milky Way.
