Introduction
Surah Ya-Seen (Arabic: سورة يس) is the 36th 'chapter' of Qur'an with 83 ayah, and was revealed in Mecca. It is given the title of "the Heart of the Qur'an".[1]
Mysterious Letters
Opening with the arabic letters "Ya" and "Sin", possibly referring to the Prophet himself, since Ya also means "O" while "Sin" is often interpreted as indicating insan (human).[2] The context seems to indicate this interpretation as well, as verses 3-6 specifically address the Prophet.
Sections and Themes of Surah Ya-Seen
This chapter of the Qur'an covers many of the themes of the Qur'an, but primarily focused on arguments for belief in God [3] The arguments arise in three forms: a historical parable, a reflection on the order in the universe and finally a discussion of resurrection and human accountability [3].
