Yannis Andreou Papaioannou

(b Cavala, 6 Jan 1911). Greek composer. He studied at the Hellenic Conservatory (1922-34), where he began teaching in 1953. His music has progressed from neo-classicism and Byzantine modality to serial and avant-garde practices.
