Acharya Yashodev Suri was one of the greatest acharyas of the Tapa Gachchha sub sect in the shvetambar sect of Jainism.He was a prominent[citation needed] Jain scholar. Yashodev Suri was born on 7th Jan. 1916 at Dabhoi (Vadodara district in Gujarat) He founded Jain Sahitya Mandir at Palitana, the best pilgrimage place of Jain svetambar sect. He was a prolific writer who wrote 77 books, on various aspects of Jainism. He also wrote poems, and Jain Panchang in the Hindi, Gujarati and English languages. He helped to create MODERN JAIN PANCHANG for 21 years, before his death. His wellknown creation is Jain flag,so was popularly known as "Jain Sahitya Kala-Ratna Acharya Yashodeosuri".

He died on August 30, 2006.
