| Poromitra oscitans Ebeling, 1975 |
The yawning, Poromitra oscitans, is a fish of the genus Poromitra, found in tropical and subtropical waters of the indo-Pacific region, at depths of from 800 to 5000 metres. Their length is from 7 to 10 centimetres.
The yawning is a small deep-water bathypelagic species, similar to Melamphaes microps but with a higher back, which gives it a more substantial look, and much smaller eyes and larger mouth.
The colour is dark brown or black.
