( b Bratislava, 24 April 1924). Israeli composer. He settled in Palestine in 1941 and studied with Partos and Boskovich; in 1959-60 he studied in Germany with Stockhausen and Zimmermann. He moved to Zürich in 1963, and has written much electronic music for plays.

Yehoshua Lakner (b. Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, April 24, 1924; d. Zurich, Switzerland, December 5, 2003) was a composer of contemporary classical music. He settled in Palestine in 1941, and relocated to Zürich, Switzerland in 1963.

He studied with the American composer Aaron Copland at Tanglewood in 1952.
