Yew Chung International School (Yew Chung, or YCIS) is a prestigious private school providing pre-school to secondary education in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Qingdao of China and Silicon Valley of the United States. The school was founded in 1932 by Madame Tsang Chor-hang, a relative of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

Curriculum
Yew Chung incorporates a unique educational model and teaching methodology that has led the school to be recognized as an authority in international education recognized by tertiary institutions worldwide. The curriculum is taught through thematic teaching, which ties a common theme through all subjects taught in a semester.
All schools feature a bilingual, bi-cultural education in English and Chinese. YCIS's philosophy centers around "holistic education." The schools also place heavy emphasis on "global commitment" and eco-conscious living.
Admissions
The admissions procedure is highly competitive, and requires extensive testing and an interview stage. The admissions percentage range from year to year, usually around 15%. Tuition ranges from approximately US$15,000-20,000 per year for day students.
Extra-curricular activities
Yew Chung offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, ranging from sports such as swimming, netball and basketball to more intellectual activities such as math/physics competitions and robotics.
Staff
Teachers are recruited worldwide, ranging from England and Australia to Asia to Africa. The Parent Organizations (PO) also initiate and coordinate many events and activities throughout the school year.
Graduates
Graduates are accepted to universities such as the Yale University, Oxbridge, University of Toronto, and Hong Kong Baptist University. The international Cambridge University examinations are hosted in conjunction with YCIS.
