Yoshiaki Koizumi (小泉 歓晃 Koizumi Yoshiaki, born in 1968) is a Japanese electronic game designer. A graduate from the Visual Concept Planning Department of the Osaka University of Arts, he has been working for Nintendo for the past 16 years.[1]
His first project was on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System video game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. He later worked on major games such as Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Super Mario 64. He then worked as the 3D System Director on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and was promoted to director for the following games: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Mario Sunshine, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, and Super Mario Galaxy, released in November 2007.[2]
