Biography

The impossible-to-pin-down sound of Young Circle stems from lead singer Joshua Young's globetrotting childhood. Growing up in both California and Germany meant that Young was familiar with both the guitar-punk happenings in California and the techno played at the Love Parade in Berlin. Young used these influences to shape Young Circle's sound, part classic rock & roll and part cool dance music. In 2002 the band flew to London to record with one of its heroes, Happy Mondays background vocalist Rowetta. The usually electronic-oriented dance label Guidance released the group's debut EP, Viva les Enfants d'Amour, in 2003. After the record's release the bandmembers started working on their debut album and a live show that they claim will include dancers, film loops, and farm animals. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
