Your Husband's Past

Plot

One of the writers that contributed to this solidly funny Tyler Brooke comedy was Stan Laurel, who was temporarily taking a break from acting to work behind the camera. Brooke plays English Eddie, an infamous international crook who has decided to reform. He falls in love with the governor's daughter (Vivien Oakland) and they decide to wed. Eddie's pal, Dippy (George Cooper), is not convinced that the straight and narrow path is for him, and there is much difficulty in trying to keep him honest. At the wedding, the chief of detectives recognizes Eddie, but the governor does not believe that his son-in-law to be is a thief. Since Dippy has made off with the evidence, Eddie and his fiancée go through with the ceremony. The newlyweds embark on their honeymoon, but Dippy and the detective are not far behind. Finally, Eddie confesses the truth to his bride, but she forgives him his past. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
