Yukon

(band)

Yukon is a four-piece band from Baltimore, MD whose style is often described as progressive rock as well as math rock, and often compared to Genesis, Drive Like Jehu, and Don Caballero

The currently active band formed in 2004 and features members of Double Dagger, Wax and Wane, Hex Screw, and ex-members of Economist and the legendary Charm City Suicides. The band has toured the American West Coast in 2005, Midwest with Rick Weaver (of Baltimore band, the New Flesh) in 2006, and the East Coast with Charlotte band, Calabi Yau, in which they performed at the International Noise Conference in Miami, FL in February 2007. Yukon completed their first full U.S. tour in the summer of 2007 with Brooklyn band, Archaeopteryx. Yukon also performed at Whartscape in 2007, a festival curated by Baltimore collectives, Wham City and Wildfire Wildfire.

Members of Yukon co-curated with fellow Brooklyn math-rock band, Stay Fucked, the Dark Forces Swing Blind Punches festival in Philadelphia, which was held December of 2006 and featured current innovative music from bands such as Dysrhythmia and Zs. [1]
