Yum-Yum (Sullivan: The Mikado). Soprano. Sister of Peep-Bo and Pitti-Sing, all wards of Ko-Ko, to whom she is to be married. She is loved by the minstrel Nanki-Poo, son of the Mikado. Their friends conspire to marry Ko-Ko to the elderly Katisha, leaving the lovers free for each other. Aria: The sun whose rays; duet (with Nanki-Poo): Were you not to Ko-Ko plighted; trio (with her sisters): Three little maids from school. Created (1885) by Leonora Braham.
