The little old lady from Pasadena may start tailgating you on her personal transporter, thanks to ZAP (formerly ZAPWORLD.COM). ZAP (an acronym for Zero Air Pollution) makes electric personal transporters, bicycles, scooters, and vehicles, as well as universal rechargeable batteries. The company has sold more than 100,000 vehicles to customers in more than 75 countries since 1994. CEO Steven Schneider and co-founder and Chairman Gary Starr own about 30% and 16% of ZAP, respectively.
