History

The company was founded in 2002 by Greg Alves. [2] The name was chosen because the company pledged to have "zero tolerance for bad porn". [5] The first title ZT released was Who's Your Daddy Part One.[6] In 2005, ZT introduced sister studio Black Ice, which specializes in all-black and interracial content. [2] The same year Zero Tolerance offered Mike Tyson a role in one of their films, however the boxer rejected their proposal. [7] Also in 2005, the company achieved a publicity coup when its films were featured in the film The 40-Year-Old Virgin. In the movie, ZT films were amongst those given to Steve Carell’s character as a means of easing his sexual frustration. The titles featured were School of Cock, Grand Theft Anal and Virgin Surgeon. [8] In 2006, the company filed a lawsuit against AdultsAllowed.com, seeking more than $15 million in damages for copyright infringement. [9] In 2006 the company started included a bonus Spanish language track on all its DVDs, in an attempt to tap in to the increasingly important Spanish speaking demographic in the US and Latin America. [10] In 2007, the company signed a deal with Hustler TV to provide its content on the channel in North and South America. [2] In 2008, ZT brought a lawsuit against DVD rental site Movixo Inc., alleging DVD piracy. The case was settled out of court for $15 million. [11] The same year ZT released the first pornographic High-Definition Interactive DVD release, Interactive Sex with Bree Olson [12]

Actresses

Actress Courtney Cummz has an exclusive contract with ZT, and also directs films for the company. [13][14] Cummz was the first ZT contract girl. [15] In 2008, the company signed a six-film deal with Amber Lynn. [16] Wendi Knight has an exclusive contact with ZT, and has directed movies in the Grand Theft Anal, Strip Tease Then Fuck, and Wet Dreams Cum True series.[17] Alektra Blue is a spokeswoman for Third Degree Films, and Roxy Reynolds is a contract star for Black Ice. [18]
