2003
On 22 December 2003, Zhang was given a three month ban for testing positive for the banned substance ephedrine.[1]
2008
He was forced to play in the reserve team after making a dreadful mistake in the game with Shanghai Shenhua. Then he announced that he decided to retired from association football because of this unfair punishment.[2]
